Default hardwiring v1 in dodge ram to what wire above rearview mirror?

hi, just bought an 09 ram, and don't want to run a wire down to the fusebox. I would love to tap into a "key on" wire above the rearview mirror really quick. Anyone know how to tell which wire to use?

get a volt meter to test the connections. Thats the only way to know.

Does it matter what it's used for? There is a unit above the rearview that has lights, auto garage opener, and rear window slider. As long as it's a "key on" I won't have to worry about blown fuses, or over volting my v1?

Tap into the cigarette lighter if it is key on.

Even if someone tells you which wire works on this car, test it first. Use a volt meter, or at least a 12 v light as a test lamp. This way you will be sure you have a switched power source. The ground wire can be attached to any metal part of the car and should be no problem at all.

Just don't use a wire that has a switch for on and off at first I used my headlights wire and wondered why it only worked when my lights were on then I tapped into the radio... works fine now

I did the same thing the first time I tried. Except turning on the V1 would also turn on the headlights.
