Default Question on what setting to use on my Valentine

I just recently got a used Valentine the other day, and was curious which setting I should run it in. The previous owner has it set in L but wasn't sure if I should keep it there. I live in SC and from the radar bands by town thread they use X, K, Ka, and laser.

Also anymore info on my Valentine? He said it was 4 months old but it looks older. The last 3 serial #s are 646.

V1 Description: Radar circuitry known in-house as V1.8. This is our latest and best performer on both radar and laser with just one exception—it lacks POP Protection. Of interest to those who drive in Europe, the latest V1 version also has a Euro Mode.

So its up to date minus POP. I think big L will be the setting I'm gonna stick with.

Four months old and no POP? The first setting for your V1 should be in a box and off to VR for a checkup.

I guess he bought it used from someone, because my software is 3.789, what thread do I need to look for to mod my V1 to operate the best for me?

Is this what I should use to program it? Trying to get it done tonight before I take it in the shop tomorrow to get hardwired. http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...h-newbies.html
