    Default Will DVD Player Interefere?

I'm thinking of mounting above my rearview mirror and flipping down the DVD screen from the ceiling above the 2nd row in my Navi. That way cars (including leos) behind me can't see my V1. Will the obstruction of the DVD screen degrade performance in detecting radar from rear?

I'd say at very least it'll confuse the heck out of the arrows.

Yeah well a few things here:

    1) Above your rear-view mirror may have a significant decrease in performance (most noticeabley laser) if there is a tint-strip (and depending on what kind) were you are putting it on...not sure how Lincoln Navi's T-S are.

    2) If its tucked up there with the correct Hardwire mounting kit it should be pretty stealthy on its own (especially because how much higher you ride...most cars at lets say a stoplight would find it harder to see rather then if you rode in a car at the same height as them.

    3) Yes rear detection will be effected... especially laser.

    4) I would think a flip-down 5x5, 7x7 (or what-have-you) DVD screen would attract more attention then a V1 tucked up in there nicely... if it does well then you would loose a DVD flip down screen and the V1.

Just re-read the post, with the screen being set back in the second row, i'm not sure how much difference it'll make for radar. Could be some, could be none. I didn't catch the "second row" part on the first read.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. Not trying to hide it from theft -- just don't want a trail of freeloaders drafting behind me!

Oh yeah wow I didnt see it either... In anycase (as I stated) it will still probably 'not help' laser detection at all.

I think tucked in there well enough with a stealthy hardwire kit install should make most 'freeloaders' miss your V1 and become your rabbit.

im not sure what year Navi you have but if you mount behind the tint strip you should be fine, i mounted my x50 behind it and didnt notice any decrease in performance. good luck 8)
