Tinted Windshield effecting V1

I guess if you live in the sunbelt, a tinted windshield is nice. Here in WA my friend had his windshield tinted and it was ridiculously dark all the time lol. It's funny, that the tinted windshield is all sorts of illegal in most states (every?), yet all sorts of new car commercials feature them!

I've got one down here, it's only a 50% but it seems necessary because of all the sun. Also cools the car off a bit in the summer months.
