New V1? I never knew there was one...

Can anyone tell me that has had an older version and tried the new one what the differences are and the performance differences you have experienced.

I looked on V1 website and it does not even look like the one in the video, because of the other laser eye. Am I missing something ?

The V-1 in the video is an older one. It's thicker, and has a visible sensor below the arrows. Pre POP

Differences I noticed with the upgrade to 3.872

smaller(thinner)
the Bogey display has a diffusing cover that I found annoying for about a day. Now I prefer it because it is less blinding at night.
Quicker. It SEEMS quicker, but in the real-world this is very difficult to quantify

My 1995 old 1.7 thick unit that I sent in for a 3.872 did not even have the LEDs for the 4 different alarms. It had 1 LED, not lit for X band, solid LED for K band and flashing LED for Ka, laser lit all 3 arrows at once. I liked that but it showed only the most important threat at one time. Did not have to guess which LED was what band at night as one has to today, need colored LEDs, are you listening Valentine? The K band was better on off-axis door openers but weaker on everything else. Happy Holidays.....

The 1.8 is a little bit more sensitive on K band and significantly more sensitive on 35.5 Ka, especially off-axis. On 33.8 and 34.7 the 1.7 abd 1.8 are similar IMHO.

The 1.7 is more difficult for the Spectre to pick up than the 1.8 also.

Dude, as the name says "Stlouisx50" for Escort 8500 X50, I did not own nor did I care for a V1 prior to the X50. I thought the X50 was everything so I did little research on a product I could care less for. Now that I have a newer version, I did not even care to check out old versions either. I thought maybe there was something new. Is there something wrong with questioning something that I could have looked over? I think not.
