Default Where to mount Valentine One?

I want to buy a Valentine 1 for my Prius (feel free to laugh). However, I am weary of suction cups because they leave marks and I park in the streets of Baltimore where people regularly check cars for electronics.

I doubt that my V1 will be staying in the car, but I don't want to make my car a target. I was wondering if there was a mount that would attach to the center console, lift the V1 2 inches higher from the center console. As I am 6 ft and drive rather fairly upright it should not impede my line of view and also clear the front hood of the car.

This is what the Prius dashboard looks like

Any mounts that may attach to the center console in a non-permanent way that you are aware of?

    Thanks!

You might consider hard wiring the V1 and putting the V1 on the visor. Many in the forum hard wire and place the RD high on the windshield. This should improve your performance. Take a look at some of the installs to get some more ideas.

    o.k, I'll bite . . . . . . . . . . a Prius - hahahahaha
but seriously, every owner I have talked with is a happy camper (or couple)

If you are a typical fastidious Prius driver, your windshield is clean and film/grime free. Combined with suction cups that you keep in good-working-order; little, if any, residue is left on the glass to tattle on your toys.
A handy product is eye-glass cleaner that is in a aerosol container the size of a chapstick. Made for plastic lensed eye-glasses; it cleans amazing, dries quickly and is gentle on synthetics, like suction cups.

    1. Spray the glass
    2. Wipe the glass (with the clean surface of an unused McDonalds napkin)
    3. Wipe the suckers with the now damp napkin. (Never spray the cleaner on the suckers)
If suction cup marks get your car broken in to, you should be removing your electronics a mile before you arrive. Knowledge is your enemy and removing your device in your parking-spot is advertising its' existence.

I'm opposed to a permanent visor-clip install See why Here

this is very clean setup but the bracket isn't easily removed

^^^ bigsnake Man, I just read your signature and you've got some awesome equipment. Two of my favorite RD's and two of my favorite cars! That's awesome... Which car do u like better?

If the accelerator gets stuck! (Someone had to do that joke )

Seriously though, consider either a visor mount, windshield mount or the roof mount pictured above. My favorite is a windshield mount on the right side of the mirror. That way it's not in your line of sight or in your face.

Yes, a Prius Goes 100 MPH
Steve Wozniak gets $700 speeding ticket for doing 104 MPH in Toyota Prius
Al Gore III was driving his environmentally friendly car at about 100 miles per hour on a freeway south of Los Angeles when he was pulled over by an Orange County sheriff's deputy at about 2:15 a.m.

I suppose that depends on what the speed limit is

Lol! Just remember to disconnect it when the car is not on or you'll end up with a dead battery.

Place it between the O'Biden and the Move-It-On stickers on the windscreen? I couldn't resist, sorry. I don't think the suction cup will damage the surface of the windscreen unless you spit on it and reset it daily for a couple centuries. That might do it. <g>
