Just picked up a used V1...

I just picked up a used V1 from someone for $200. The unit has version 2.909 on it, and the serial number is missing. It's almost like the sticker came apart and it left the paper/glue on the back...

I know that 2.909 doesn't have POP, but on the way home it worked pretty well. It falsed laser a few times but no LEO around. Does Valentine honor any upgrades on units without serial?

I falsed alot in the metro area and the bogey counter was off the charts. The unit seemed to have a very strong rear antenna. It definitely falses alot more than my 8500 X50 Rev. 5...

But it stayed pretty well behaved on the highways where I know there aren't any falses. Should I just leave well enough alone?

Sorry, you have a $200 paper weight and it is likely it is out of tune at that age and always will be, return it ASAP. It is a version 1.7 and is at least a decade old.
