    Default Redline to V1

    Hi all,

I just made the switch from the Escort Redline to the Valentine V1. I think I made the right choice... I couldn't see spending $500 on a RD. From all the Youtube videos I saw V1 alerted just before or right after the Redline. Plus I dont live in a state where its illegal to own one so I dont need it to be super stealth. I hope I made the right choice but seeing how he has been producing them since the 70s he must know what he is doing right?!

I just ordered it this morning from his website but does anyone know about how long it takes to ship using standard ground to New York?

It looks like there are bunch of modes also... gonna have to read up on. Big L, Little L, POP on or off, etc...

well bye bye escort and hello V1!!

Congrats!!! I think it should take 3 days or so to get it.

Where in NY are you? I would run POP off and x band off. Run A mode always on the highway and logic in the city if you want. (I run A mode regardless)

From Albany, moved to Astoria, then to Garden City and now back to Albany. I drive a lot on the throughway down to the city and LI, also up north to visit college buddies near Canada and western NY to visit my old Rugby teammates. A lot of highway driving!

Very nice. Yea run the settings I stated. You WILL need laser jammers asap though.... Get yourself at least Laser Interceptor duals for the front of your car and you should be good for now, then try to save to get two more heads for the rear.

NYSP likes to use C/O ka band in NYC and Long Island, but they use I/O K and Ka outside of the city. and lidar everywhere
In NYC, NYPD Hwy uses a combination of C/O k and ka, lidar and instant on k
Nassau county uses k, ka and lidar (a lot of rear shots from the entrance ramps on the LIE)
Suffoul county uses primarily lidar only and they are known to run I/O k and ka

Ha maybe one day Ill get jammers and what not but I cant see spending the $$ when my car is barely $500. 1996 Mazda Protege with 130k miles. HOLLA!! Right now I just want radar/laser protection and awareness for my local commutes. Maybe if I upgrade my car ill put money into those things but now i feel like a V1 is fine.

Wait till you're going fast and you get hit by laser. You'll **** bricks on the spot

Ask mujuman from this forum. He drivers from Albany to NYC all the time and he has so many CLOSE situations that he should have a heart attack

V1 is a great choice proven technology and a solid unit. On the freeway use the A mode but around town use the logic mode. I don't know what LEO's use in your are so I would listen to others in the forum and look at the 'Regional' section of the forum for more information on what is used in your area. Personally I would operate it using the factory setting for a few weeks to get used to the unit and note the types of valid/confirmed hits that you get before you turn anything off. You dont want to be surprised by small town LEO's that you drive through. Also be careful to change settings if you drive in a new area. Good luck.

    Your redline's sad

But you'll love the V1! The arrows are a big plus as well.

Save the extra $$ for jammers sometime in the future!
