Default How many 1.7 users on here??

Looks like my V1s have different specs, both bought at the same time. One is 2.381 and the other is 2.391

Did the 1.7 have any better versions? I have never used a 1.8, so I can not compare.

A few guys still run them, but I honestly think you should have a 1.8...

True, I could have upgraded but instead I spent less and picked up a used 9500 for even less It would suck if I get a 1.8 and then they release a 1.9 with GPS

Well even if you upgrade say for $190 and there is a 1.9, you'll still have to pay the difference to go to that.

Even the early 1.8s will be much less to upgrade than my 1.7, but still, even the last 1.8 will not be a cheap upgrade to the successor. Who would want to buy a full price new V1 and then have to plunk down another chunk of 100-200 bucks. Overall it would end up being cheaper to not trade in, and just buy a fresh revision when it is released.... It has been a while since the 1.8 got POP etc... I'd rather have a backup 1.7 than lose it in a poorly timed trade that ends up being more costly.

I have a 1.7 & a 1.8. The 1.7 stays in my daily driver as it has a much better lidar detection system & better ramp down IMHO. The 1.7 does not have the lidar falses that the 1.8 does. On the down side, the 1.7 will not pick up 100PPS guns. Not an issue as my jammers take care of that.

The 1.7 is a very good RD. It's main weakness is off axis 35.5 Ka, moreso than the 1.8 which isn't so great at that either. It rarely falses on laser, and it is better with K band QT compared to a 1.8 with POP off. If 35.5 is used a lot where you drive, then you should probably upgrade. If not, the 1.7 will do a good job of protecting you.

AFAIK, all the 1.7s have about the same radar performance. The display was upgraded on later models to provide LED warning lights for each radar band and laser.
