Default Super Duper Newb Question about k band valentine 1

Hello new valentine 1 3.872 user. Valentine 1 has been great except the K band drones in the california bay area are notorious for setting off my v1 every mile or two. I have tried settings Big L, automute 10 sec, 4 led unmute, pop off with no luck at all.

My question is if i set the automute to 30 second, what happens if i get tagged with a k band gun in that 30 second time frame? Am i screwed because it dosent sound or does k band gun usually set off v1 detector for minutes?.

Or can i just turn k band off in my area.

    thanks

If there is one drone setting off k band at full blast and it's normally only ONE source and you get TWO then that can be the officers radar gun.

There are drones every couple of miles and is annoying, they alert me full blast when i pass them. I dont wan't them alerting me unless there is a popo. how long(in seconds) can a valentine 1 sniff out a popo with a kband gun.

Honestly there is nothing you can do.... Even if you get an Escort with GPS lockout there is a HIGH chance that the drone you lock out in that spot will prevent any signal from alerting there and if there IS a cop there it will not alert.. Maybe lower the volume and if there is more than one signal the v1 will alert loudly to another bogey.

thnx for the helping the newb, i guess i will have to turn off k band in my area, the more falses i hear, the greater tendancy I ignore the detector, completly defeating the point of having one.

I use maximum time and strength muting with rear arrow off in little "l" mode when I want it quiet, and then switch to "A" mode when im speeding or in areas without falses.

Without this setting and activley turning on "l" "A" manually IMO the V1 would be totally useless.

Crj238, my question to you, what is the point of setting v1 on 30 sec max muting, when it doesnt alert you to potential k band guns in those 30 sec period, or does it unmute when over 6 dots you set.

I hate falsing, too much falsing kills your reaction time. Completely muted for 30 seconds no matter strength, and rear arrow is muted.

Yes it will completely mute for 30 seconds any K band alert (LEO or not). The rear arrow muting is so it doesn't break the 30 second threshold when driving slow passed a falses in town. If rear arrow is not muted even 30 seconds is not enough. I also use it in little "l" mode so im still alerted visually (cant miss the blaring arrows), My V1 display is just above eye level.

Now for how i use it when there is a potential for real K band threats.

1- I mentally note "High Risk" areas where LEO's use K band, or areas where there are no falses and i turn it to "A" mode.

2- I mentally note "Low Risk" areas where i can use "l" mode and not really worry about LEO's or where i wouldn't speed anyway and turn on "l" mode.

I drive 70 miles daily with the speed sensor and K-muting to 3s. I have the occasional K-band punch through if there is an actual radar source or blind spot sensors. Or occasionally the speed sensors spaced 1 mile apart will over lap on time when I'm between them or about half mile away. That last for for a day or so.

Post up what you've arrowed down. I'd start with arrowed down: 7,b,c,d,e,f,g. This is 3s muting along with little "L' program. Adjust both volume levers accordingly.
