Default Will I be happy with a V1 in DFW metroplex?

I bought my first detector about seven or eight years ago. I decided on a 8500X50 because of it's filtering capabilities. I am in need/want of a new RD. The V1 scared me off because of it's being extra chatty. I read the thread about a True Lock fan getting a V1 by CJR I think their handle is. Will this toning down of the V1 make it bearable in the metroplex? I only take road trips once a year, so it is safe to say 99% of my driving is in the city. Should I just stay with the Escort brand? I live in Ft. Worth.

I used to live in the DFW area and Tthe V1 should be just fine on the highways and with certain settings will be reasonably quiet in the cities engulfed in it My first ticket was on 360 S right after the hill before the 20 split with a Crapra not saying a thing LOL V1 definitely would have saved me

If you drive in the city 99 percent of the time, I recommend the Passport 9500ix. I drive mainly in the city with a moderate highway driving and the 9500ix has locked out many of the falses. It's a pleasure to drive with if you want a quiet ride.

It does fine on the highway in the DFW area as well. I've never gotten a ticket.

I'm in Irving and there are plenty of falses in the city streets. I'm used to them, but my passengers get very irritated with my V1.

Well, I ordered a returned V1. If it is to chatty in the city after I program it, I will return it. Hope it works out. Thanks!

V1 can be chatty but I like knowing what is going on around me. If you properly set it up, it should be quiet enough.
    V1 is a great detector.
    Good luck

Good choice. But in FW, you'll want a laser jammer before an RD. I hardly even use my RD in FW, just the jammer. That's the much bigger threat. But turn off x-band and mute k-band, and the V1 will be completely tolerable.

You'll be fine with the V1. The falses in most areas of DFW aren't that bad in my opinion.

Unless you drive in Denton. The sheriffs have it there in some of their cars.
