    Default X band for EU

    Hi to All

Does some of you know if the X band is used over here in Western EU ?
it seems this band is no more in use ...

By the way if I disactivate this band, would my V1 would be more performant in the others band K, Ku, Ka as not swapping 1 band more or this as no actions ?

    Best regards

    Fred

The VR company line seems to be that disabling/enabling some bands does not affect performance on the other bands at all. Some suspect that it has more impact than VR is willing to admit. I have no idea about usage where you are, but I do know that there are two different X bands and only one is used in the US.

There is 10.50 GHz X-band (US style) and 9.90 GHz (not USA).

The V1 will only see 10.50. There is a relatively high amount of X band in Eastern Europe and Russia, not to mention Africa and elsewhere. There are both 10.50 and 9.90 depending on where you are.

I cannot say for sure that 9.90 or 10.50 are used in France, Germany, but I am sure they are not used in UK.

On the http://www.target-automotive.nl/wcms.php?wcms[id]=82 Target website, they list a few frequencies:

    The Netherlands
    13.450
    24.125
    34.360
    Belgium
    9.410
    24.125
    34.360
    France
    9.900
    24.125
    Switzerland
    24.125
    34.360
    Austria
    24.125
    34.360
    England
    13.450
    24.150
    Spain
    13.450
    24.125
    34.360
    Germany
    13.450
    24.125
    34.360
    Italy
    24.125
    34.360
    Denmark
    24.125
    34.360
    Poland
    13.450
    Portugal
    10.600
    24.125
    34.360

Uh oh  I do not know what the 9.90 GHz units in France are or if they are still in use... perhaps mobile units?

Unfortunately, that list is outdated and also has many mistakes, for example there has never been any Ku in Spain, yet in France there is, along with Ka 34,3GHz that are not mentioned. And there are many more mistakes.

To my knowledge X band radars practically have been retired from service in Westen Europe, like the Mesta 206 from the 60's, this is the first radar model they started to use in France I believe as well.

That is not to say that you may encounter one in a little lost town somewere, but its rare, they are antiques that have been replaced by more modern Ka o K band radars like the Mesta 208. In Spain for example they have ALL been retired. So Radar detectors for EU often don't even include the X band at all anymore becuase its useless.

You will likely not notice any performance increase from disabeling the X band but you will cut on many false alrams, and like SmaartAasSaabr said, the V1 picks up the US X band on 10.525GHz, and not the EU X band of 9,900GHz anyway. Don't worry about the x-band.
