Default Had my V1 for 2 days and it already paid for itself!!!

I was driving to work this morning doing 80 in a 55 and the Ka started to slowly increase as I was heading up a hill. As soon as I crested the hill there was a CHP on the right shoulder, engine running, ready to hand someone an unexpected bill. Even though there was a hill blocking my view the V1 still alerted me a full 1/4 mile ahead of time, otherwise I would not have had time to slow down. The traffic was moderate at the time and I may have been able to blend in regardless, but at 25mph over the limit I doubt that would have been the case. I've never had a moving violation before, but I'm assuming that a ticket like that would cover the $400 I just spent.

your first detector save, great feeling isnt it? . 80 in a 55 is a bit fast tho! if that cop was running instant on or laser, you'd be dead meat without someone infront of you for instant on or a jammer for laser

i like the "unexpected bill" too. thats great

Indeed! Money saved, clean driving record intact.

80 in a 55 is a fairly common occurance here in CA. Anyone else in this forum who lives in CA, or has done a fair amount of driving in CA, will concur. I don't see laser being used much in my neck of the woods. The only time I have seen it recently is when a group of authority figures were speed trapping people one morning on the highway I use when going to work. Of course, the speed trap was mentioned the day before on the local radio station, so anyone who was listening (like me) was already aware. Good thing too because laser jammers are illegal in CA, so the best I can do is a V1 + VEIL.

Those of you who live back east have it much worse with respect to the # of police on the road writing tickets. Things are spread out here in CA and there are not enough CHP's to go around. Too many roads, too many miles to cover. I drive 40 miles each way to work every day and if I see 2 CHP's, that's a lot.

I think its this way with any Top-of-the-Line detector, once you hae one, it feels like your missing a part of you without it... (its why backups are needed, you simply can't go without one).

Just be safe... and consider yourself lucky you dont live with the NYST's, I am not saying CHP are anything to scoff at; but NYST's
