Haha in your opinion that is. Escort Zombie. I don't see where Escort is ahead of VR or vice versa.

Exactly, still locking out LEO's, missing QT shots, RedLines exploding, etc....

Either way, I've still seen way more threads about problems with Escorts service over VR's. We'll see how it plays out.

Escort customer service is actually very good. I've returned several detectors within the 30 day trial for a full refund with absolutely no hassles. Every little gripe I've ever had, they either fix the detector or exchange it......again, with no hassles.

That said, I've had my fair share of issues......RedLine dropping alerts (antenna repaired)......RedLine remote speaker jack crackling noise (RedLine replaced).......RedLine short range on 35.5 (antenna repaired). Supercup loose on windshield (Supercup replaced). Remote speaker popping (remote speaker replaced). Yeah, I'm a real pain in the arse but they take care of me every time.

As for Valentine, I'd say generally good customer service.....but sometimes unforgiving. I had an issue with a V1 that sporadically falsed on Laser in a new GMC safari van (Escort worked fine) which caused me to return it for a checkup.......no problem found. So I returned the unit for a refund and was put on their black list for no 30-day trial period 'full refund' for years! I suppose they thought I should buy another new car. They are terrific for yearly tune ups.....often not charging the customer a penny.....but are sticklers on other nonsense issues like over charging for incomplete return items or being a day or two past the 30 day trial period (the clock starts the moment they hit your credit card).

And don't forget, the infamous LEO lockout on the Belscort's has it's equal in the form of LEO J-outs in the V1. Within the 1st week of owning my last 3.872 it was duped into locking out a LEO running 34.7 CO by what I suspect was a passing Cobra equipped vehicle. I had to reset the V1 to pick up the 34.7 signal again.

So I give the edge in reliability to the V1 although it SHOULD be a rock solid platform after six or so years without a hardware update. If you remember correctly, there were a slew of quirks where the firmware version number tumbled for a while after the 1.8 hardware update.

The edge in customer service goes to Escort in my experience. More issues due to ever changing products but they stand behind it 100% regardless of how many times you tap on the door. One recent change in policy is a bit concerning however......it appears that without signing up for the gold service package you are relegated to an automatic 2 week turn around for service. Not a good policy in my opinion.

Your missing what im saying and so did Rob. Escort is utilizing the internet to provide there customers with a service, on line chat, forums, animation, follow up emails and tracking info for purchases and service. They also are putting so many cool new ideas/features in there products they don't give enough time to work out the bugs sometimes, there for getting ahead of them selves.

As apposed to VR that does almost non of those things but makes only 1 consistent performer to a smaller group of people. But in the end i see the same percentage of issues with VR as I do Escort, no one is immune to complaints or issues.

Most all customer services will do right! It is when the customer screws up and does not follow normal practices and rules is when a problem rises. Valentine and Escort customer services will treat any customer right, they have me if I follow proper practices. Valentine has never charged me 1 cent for anything, repairs, adjustments, updates and they should have but have not. I always state that I enjoy their product and have used it for many years, that is a good start to be nice to them and they will be nice to anybody. But if a customer does not follow normal practices, complains with an edge, most of the time the problem will not get resolved with peace.....

I had an issue with my orig new v1, the sound was not consistant. I called and asked to send me a new unit and I would return this one, they said no they wanted to inspect mine first to see if I damaged it, or stuck something in the speaker thinking it was a headphone jack.

I sent it in and was told it was defect with the unit and told them to keep it and I got a refund, I did not trust a repaired unit since I was buying new.

Honestly, the person you dealt with could of been Mike's wife, known to be mean, that is the way it is, small company and if you don't their customer service don't buy from them, I do not think they really care.
