Now that I can admit my problem, my first step was to ditch my passport 8500 I had been using for some time. Second step was to order a redline or a V1. After much research and agony....yeah it was killing me. Staying up all hours of the night reading reviews, forums, watching video comparisons, you name it. That led me to the third step in ordering my returned V1 on Monday.
That puppy arrived yesterday and I think I have wasted a tank of gas just testing it out. As others have stated numerous times, and I hate to sound like a broken record, but the arrows are invaluable. I now know there are 5 falses in a shopping center near my house. The 8500 would tell me one, if I was lucky sometimes two. I can drive through that center and tell you which stores even have them. It's nutz!
Chatty? Is chatty bad? Well considering I always ran my 8500 in HWY mode, I don't find the V1 in A too chatty as of yet.
Why did I ditch the 8500? I think I just wanted something more. Better awareness, absolutely. I would often times find my 8500 missing I/O and or notifying me very very late even in some C/O instances. With the summer approaching and some family road trips planned all across Texas, I am one excited mofo.
Now, perhaps it is time for some LI dual HP's up front on my SUV. Grrrrr.....need more money for that. For now I am going to enjoy my V1.....drive in A for a few weeks, and then start experimenting.
Fanboy? Zombie? I don't give a s**t what others wanna tag V1 owners.....I am a convert. Until the competition can step up with this sort of performance and awareness, I am sold.
