Default Heads Up Display (HUD) on Grand Prix - Problem For V1?

I just ordered the V1 on Friday and I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival.

My car is equipped with a HUD or Heads Up Display from the factory that projects my speed/signals/radio/low fuel etc on the windshield.

I'm not sure exactly what kind of light the HUD uses but will this cause laser falses or any other problems with the V1?

The information projected on the windshield is green in color if that helps.

What did VR have to say about this? As sensitive as the V1 is to any "fancy" light, I would not be surprised if it did, but I would initially say it should not cause problems. Get it, try it out, VR will refund if you have problems.

You should have no problem. My dad has a Grand Prix GTP with the heads up display, along with the V1, and has had no problems with it. He has V1.7 and it has been just about flawless. My 1.8 (3.826) does have more Ka band sensitivity though. The 1.7 has fewer laser falses though, but 1.8 is probably more sensitive on laser.

I have also used my 1.8 in the GTP and even though it is more sensitive on laser, the heads up display caused no problems with it either.

To answer your question, I would not expect the heads up display to cause any problems for the V1.

Awesome, that's what I was hoping to hear.

    Thanks

It should have no problems whatsoever.

I saw someone on a Corvette forum who opened up his HUD unit and mounted a V1 remote display inside. Apparently all that is required is to stick the display alongside the LCD display already in there and it should project. In any case a HUD V1 would be awesome in the extreme

I've got a 2005 Corvette with HUD and have a mount that puts the V1 under the mirror. No problems whatsoever with HUD. I don't think you'll have any problem either.

My brother also has a V1 in his GTP, and everything's fine. You should have no problems.
