    Default Scatter Saves DO happen!

I decided to put a 9500ix in the car with the V1 just to see how they ran together. I'm very aware of the possible interference. Interestingly enough, during the 200 mile drive I did yesterday, I saw a record number of cops on a section of I-75. Obviously this was a huge push for fourth of July enforcement.

I got nailed with laser 3 times in a ten mile stretch!! Interestingly enough, the V1 would have have saved me 2 out of the 3 times I got hit with laser had I been speeding! During one of the saves I was fiddling with my V1 adjusting the programming, and as I was about to put it back on the windsheild the laser alert went off. I actually thought it was a false, but then I got nailed again for real. The 9500ix would have saved me 1 out of the 3 times.

The 9500ix had a slight disadvantage being on the right side of the vehicle, and all of the shots were taken from the left side of the road. The V1 was on the left side. The 9500ix completely missed one of the shots, which I was surprised. I was in the open highway, and the V1 picked up scatter while I was trying to put it back on my windshield (I actually thought it was a false). Next thing I know I'm getting nailed with a full on laser alert. I see the cop standing outside his car, but the 9500ix didn't alert. The 9500ix missed a few shots, and the V1 actually missed one the 9500ix picked up.

I hear a lot of people talk how laser detection is stupid, but I had two scatter warnings in one day. I can't wait to get an LI, but I'll have to live with just a RD for now

I will say, after using the 9500ix, it is a solid detector. I love my V1, but if someone was looking for a quiet detector, it is excellent!

Surprising you had that many alerts to scatter. I've only had it once in all of the times that I have been shot. Had this encounter a couple weeks ago where the V1 didn't alert at all:

Unfortunately scatter saves aren't something to rely on, but they certainly are a possibility. I'm really shocked I don't hear more people picking up scatter. Maybe the cops just aren't careful with how they are shooting LIDAR.

I really do want an LI! I plan on having one in not too long

Congrats on the scatter save! I totally agree- They do happen.

I've never had a true laser save with the 9500ix (although it's always alerted when I'm hit), but I had one way in advance with the v1! It was amazing. I slowed down 15-20 mph before he hit me and by then, I was already below the PSL!

Do you get an X band false on the V1 with the passport on?

When I first started driving I got a couple blips of X band on the V1. It happened a little, but very rarely. The detectors were about 3 feet apart.

I wish I would have had the 9500ix right above the V1 on the laser shots, to even it out. Either way, the 9500ix would still have saved me 1 of the 3 times. It did miss a dead on shot right to the car, but the shot was most likely to the left headlight.

There's been a few times that I've been the target and the cop is a rookie and my V1 alerts for 5 or 6 seconds on laser. That means he was holding the trigger down and couldn't get a speed. If the cop knows what they are doing, they shouldn't have to hold the trigger down. Just point, aim, shoot with one click of the trigger like a firearm. V1 alert would be about 1.5 to 2 seconds and then quiet.

I've had a lot of scatter detection, but i wouldn't call any of them saves... I also traveled about 150 miles over the July 4th weekend and saw one cop, on the other hand i encountered 9 today and got pulled over for an illegal u-turn what the hell are the chances.
