    Default Considering upgrade

I was considering going from my V 1.7 to the newest model. I am not sure given my location where I live, if it is even worth it. I live in central louisiana currently, and have ran into nothing but K and KA. It works great, I am not sure exactly what software version it is, but I have no had any problems. I will check the serial numbers later, my car is a long way away in the parking lot.

I live in Louisiana too. If you want the most sensitive detector on the planet and you have $1200 lying around, get the Bel STi-R Plus. If you don't want to drop that kind of cash, sell your old V1 on eBay and you will get at least $300. Call VR and ask for a returned V1 that has been used for less than 30 days (basically brand new) which is $360. In the end, you will only end up spending around $60 for a brand new V1.

Not everyone has that kind of cash lying around nor does everyone want a wired unit. I would love a STiRPlus except it would likely get stolen real fast...

    I love the V1. I have been a user since 2001.

How much more sensitive is the stiR?

I am not sure that I would want to give up the arrows, and I dont have 1200 bucks lying around anyhow.

I am really thinking about doing that ebay plan.

That's old as hell. Looks like the software is 2.909 and the hardware is 1.7. the MF date was between 1998-2001

    See here: http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...-answer-8.html

More or less, your V1 is at least 10 years old, so yes get an upgrade..

I owned a V1 since 1997 but wouldn't be using one purchased back then.

Agree w/most that the STI-R is primo but at a minimum would get your V1 upgraded.
