So if you use a V1, you know that it is a relatively basic design and that it requires user knowledge to really use. It's remained virtually the same user-interface wise for years, but now more things are on the market which could benefit it. However, some people may not want more bells and whistles and adding certain things would require a new case/interface altogether. Spec-mode is a must and the value of GPS has proven itself. Being able to see the bands at night through color differences wouldn't be too bad either. What else does it need?
Furthermore, do you think that it would be best to:
1) do a case redesign?
2) do an add-on design (ex: a secondary piece that can 'dock' with the unit like the SC55 or even mate with the unit to make it look like 1 solid piece)?
I say 2 given it gives best of both worlds and can modernize the existing unit without changing a pretty solid interface. Perhaps a TSR-like toggle switch as well.
