    Default Power Adapter

I got all of my wiring done for a hardwire, took off the white stuff from the back of the velcro strip on the power adapter - and it won't stick to anything.

    What's the trick?

Um, I don't think there is any trick. I'm sure you've done this, but make sure that the surface is clean before sticking it down. Does the white adhesive feel sticky to your hand? If not, I'd call up V1 and get some sent to you.

Have you had your V1 for a long time? I had mine for about 5 months before I installed the hardwire harness and the remote display (which uses the same sticky stuff) and the adhesive was just fine.

This probably wasn't very helpful, but there are only a limited number of things that could go wrong. I'd blame it on dried-up adhesive.

    Especially in cold weather.
i've noticed velcro and double sided tape don't stick well when cold, and sometimes once you try it a few times, their done and won't stick no matter what.
you probably need a new piece.

I just got the V1 last week. The adhesive feel tacky, but not sticky.

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't suposed to wet it or something.

DO NOT LICK IT! Rub the surface with alchohol to remove all grease etc. then you can try sticking it.
