I-5 NB and SB
I wanted to share some reads and some sick piggy hide outs along the 5 cause I know many of us here are in Cali. I left the office at 4 heading up I-5 and cruised in to SF around 10. When i drove through the grapevine i picked up 2 chippies about .4 miles away each with their front radars on, so lame... (a very generous read). Once I got out to the open towards huron and conner, this is where it gets tricky. There are so many crazy hills that the V1 can't get a read as you're going up the hill. I got owned twice but that god for rabbits!. From there on the V1 falsed maybe 3-4 times from cars with Cobras trying to follow me. The best hit i got was 2.4-2.5 miles away with 4 1.1-1.3 and 7 .7-.9 hits. Most of these readings were forward facing except my best hit (he was coming at me) so these distances would've been farther if they were stationary. All in all it made me feel way better about my V1 ka detection. I thought it was defective driving on the 405 sometimes. I'd say the entire chippie battalion was out in full force this weekend, atleast 20+ on my way up and back. FYI for those making the trip along the 5, there's construcion before and after Bakersfield for 3 miles at both locations.
I hope this helps some people cause I was frustrated with the ka range on the V1 for the longest time.
