Default Is my thinking right on this???

Ok, I know this subject has been beat to death, but I just want to make sure my understanding is right so I can properly program my V1 to suit my needs.

The main threats in my area are 34.7 and 35.5. Never seen 33.8 and k band is only used in the older patrol cars.

Given this scenario i've turned POP off as well as ka-gaurd to maximize QT detection on 34.7 and 35.5 as I understand POP sweeps k band and 33.8 significantly more which could slow down detection on my main threats.

I dont believe the older patrol cars use POP on k band as I think they have just not been updated to some of the new ka guns.

Is my thinking correct here to maximize my QT 34.7 and 35.5 detections?

    Thanks.

Yes, you are correct. By turning POP off and Ka guard off, you are making your V1 as fast as possible.

The Ka falses are frequent but do not drive me to the point where I need to turn Ka Guard back on. I've sort of adapted to it and can now fairly easily spot a Ka false. Thanks for the help.

POP is a rare type of 'burst' radar found on only one brand of gun, which is MPH Industries. They are a small company and they make only 4 or 5 units with POP-capability, half are K-band and half are Ka-band. It is rare to see a POP-capable gun, let alone a POP-capable gun being used in POP mode. All K-band POP guns are handheld and all Ka-band POP guns are vehicle mounted. Stalker's version of POP is their 'hold' feature, which allows quick trigger and instant on radar. Like POP-capable MPH guns, the 'hold'-capable Stalkers can be operated without using this feature. If Stalker is the common radar in your area, then quick trigger (QT) and instant on radar at 34.7 GHz should be your primary concern. Therefore, you may want to turn POP off if you have a V1. If you have anything other than a V1, then you surely want to turn POP off. The MPH operates at 33.8+/- GHz frequency, where as the Stalker operates at the 34.7 GHz frequency.

The difference in detection speed with the V1 with POP mode disabled and enabled is much less than other detectors due to a different detection mechanism. I have not noticed a huuuuge difference, but I have seen an increase at 34.7 distance wise. Your results may vary. I generally drive with POP on as it seems to speed up QT K-band and boost distance on the ultra low powered K-band speed cameras, which are both used here.
