I think its pretty obvious especially if you take 2 second.dd to search and see some of the installs on here... Hardware at the top of the windshield just to the left of the rvm. Better if you have a tint strip. The horn should sit below the tint tho.

What he said. I have a blue strip and when I put my RD RIGHT BELOW the tint strip, not 2 inches from the line, BELOW IT.

Are there any test trials showing what affect the tint strip has on radar sensitivity?

I have noticed on this forum that many members "feel" there's been no radar sensitivity decrease when mounting behind the tint band. Possible LIDAR decrease it seems.

As so long as the tint is non metallic then your ok and go as high as possible w/the mount for best results, DON'T expect anything out of your RD concerning LIDAR it's just a false sense of security at best expecting any protection from your RD concerning LASER.

The V1 is an exception. I am not saying rely on the V1, but instead be pleasantly surprised when it gives you front and rear scatter saves.

I mount my V1 to the drivers side of the RVM about 2 inches lower so it sits directly in my line of sight, which allows you to see the arrows without having to 'look' directly at it and see the ramp-up. Over time, the somewhat difficult to differentiate bands gets easier as well. Finally, in this area you can turn the automute down to the point where you can audibly hear it but passengers cannot because the speaker it pointing at you. It's also nice for heavy city as you can turn it down to that point and still know what is going on without pissing everyone in the car off.
