Valentine1 won't mute or change modes help!!!!!!

My V1 wont change modes or mute. I have tried different cables and still nothing. It's connected to the adapter. What should I do to fix it?????

You mean that it works normally otherwise?
Can you get into programming mode?

Just hook the detector up to the power cord by itself. See of you can put into program mode. If it doesn't go into program mode there is something wrong with the control knob. You mentioned it won't mute or change modes. Both features are done buy pushing in the control knob

When I go on Valentine1 website it says that I already have their newest product. I cant remember exactly when I bought it about 4 years ago I think.
It will not go into program mode either, if I push the button and turn it on while pressing it V1 simply ignores it and turns on normally.
I have tried 3-4 and 6 conductor cables still same think. But otherwise it works fine and detects radar.

Are you using a V1 cord and V1 cigarette lighter plug/V1 direct power adapter?

If not, then you need to.

Been there, done that.
A Radio Shack phone cord is not compatible with a V1.
They are wired differently.

There are aftermarket V1 cords available on E-bay or you can buy one from V1 online.

Alright I will order one from V1. Once I get it I will let you know if it fixed the problem. Thanks for advice though!

So I ordered a cord from V1 and the problem is still there. It wont change modes or mute. I called V1 tech support, he said send it in and they will take a look at it. I really dont want to send it in, but it looks like I have no choice.
