    Default new updates? worth it??

    Hello to everyone,

    Been a 'long' time since been on here. Have a older V1 and wondering if the CFT upgrade is worth it or not?

    " For operation in North America, you already have a strong performer as it left our factory. However, this upgrade adds the crystal-controlled frequency tuning of later units to precisely maintain the limits of band coverage over the long term. Traffic Monitor Filter, our latest feature, eliminates the K-band false alarms caused by traffic flow-measuring systems being installed along some U. S. highways."

    Thank you

    PS any of the 'old' gang still around here?????

    What about if you don't don't live in an area with the traffic sensors? Will it be worth it then?

    x2 excellent question;

    If they made it so that the V1 could not be detected then maybe. Since there is only 1 state where they are not legal I cant see the happening.

    I am under the impression that the new ones talk even more when trash is around. Which I don't mind, but I cant see paying more for it. I love my V1.

    Mike as usual has done little in the last dozen years.

    Since he went on craigs list and found someone to update the site, now every one is doing cart wheels.

    GET OFF YOUR FAT A$$ Mike, "Savvy" is cute, but not worth a dozen years of waiting. I might get it for my wife as a stocking stuffer.

    please don't confuse efforts with results or maybe thats your issue.

    It has K band Traffic Sensor Filtering. Even if your area doesn't use the Traffic Monitors, the feature, when enabled on the V1 is suppose to be effective at rejecting the annoying blind zone alert radar on other cars.

    Maybe it's just me but I feel that the new version, other than the traffic monitoring filter (which I don't need) isn't any different than the .872. It would be nice the have the k band falses filtered out from the blind spot detection systems but that isn't a prevalent issue yet in my opinion.

    Well I can tell you it is not, at least not for the Mercedes Benz Distronic system, which uses K band.

    IMHO the upgrade is not worth it unless you have to deal with the K band traffic sensors. Other than that I see no improvement in K or Ka reception at all. In fact it has totally missed some K band signals, even with the "t" function turned off.
