    Default V1 runs warm?

    just picked up a V1 w/'s 50F out
    and the unit itself feel warm to touch.

    it it norm? i was running a 1.7 V1 next to it
    (the slight thicker version), and it was cool
    to the touch.

    Yup... Mike probably tests them in controlled thermal environments for people who buy V1 in hotter parts of the world. It is normal for them to get warm. All RD's of the highest quality do this. I hope this makes you feel more comfortible with your device. It's well made, and designed, and nothing is better at detection than V1 driving in real world circumstances.
