When during the year does Valentine introduce new versions, so I buy one that won't need an upgrade in 8 or 9 months?

Valentine can go a long time between version updates and then release 3 or 4 in short order.

Version 3.872 went for about 5-6 years until just late last year when TMF and ESP/Savvy started making their way into the product. Then versions 3.873, 3.891, 3.892 and 3.893 ticked off the clock in just a few months.
