Just bought a V1 V1.8 w/3.813 Software..Any Advice?

Hello all! I finally tracked down a Valentine One V1.8 3.813. I cant wait to try it out on the highway being as how my daily roundtrip commute is 80 miles. I hope to experience that awesome KA sensitivity I've read so much about. Does anyone know if disabling the KA Guard will give me better 35.5 Ka sensitivity? If I'm correct this was the only Ka Band that proved to lag in detection range with this pre-POP version. I am also hoping that it wont interfere with my Bel STi Magnum. This being due to the fact that the horn on this V1 didn't get holes drilled into it to help accomadate the CCT/heat dissipitation that is found in today's models therefore allowing for more RD leakage ( I hope "RD Leakage" is the correct term). If anything I'm happy to have found one on EBAY yesterday being that It's a rare version to come upon. Thanks in advance for any input!

It will definitely interfere with your STi Magnum. I sold my 3.812 as the 3.892 was a little better when we tested them against 34.7. Ka guard off will help against 35.5.

CIPS- yeah I did, but it wasn't easy! I had just the right amount of luck and asked the right questions from the seller. The unit is hit and miss on k band so it's off to the Mothership to get tuned. I'm also going to get a new casing and lenses for it to give it a pristine look. How often did you send in your 3.813 to get tuned?
