Default Anyone doing color concealed displays?

I'd like to upgrade my V1 and get savvy. I understand that I need to replace my concealed display to be fully compatable with ESP.

I love my current CD with color LEDs which I modded to have the jack in the back.

Is there any way to mod my old CD to be compatable with ESP? Can't i just jump the wires on the CD's RJ 45 to make it look like the CD is not there? I really don't understand how the ESP system works.

Sorry for the tangent. Is there anyone doing color LEDs for the new displays?

    Thanks

As far as I'm aware, there is no new display. The ESP V1s automatically use the legacy protocol for the concealed displays.

Really? Why would V1 do that?

So they don't alienate all of their customers that already own a remote display unit?

There are definitely new concealed displays that are ESP compatable.

They have and "ESP" logo on them. The old CD's put the V1 in Legacy mode.

Looks like I need a new one.

I ordered some LEDs and am going to try to change them myself. Wish me luck!!

Let me hijack this and make a left turn, what is legacy mode?

My understanding is this: If you have a V1 w/ESP and all accessories are ESP compatable, SAVVY will mute a signal at the set speed. It will also UNMUTE when you go above that set speed.

If any one of your V1 accessories are not ESP compatable, SAVVY will still mute the signal but can't unmute it when you drive above the set speed.

Legacy mode means that any current or future ESP features will not work if one accessory is not ESP compatable. Right now, it only affects SAVVY, but I'm guessing that any future ESP features will probably be limited unless your setup is 100% ESP compliant.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Indeed. A single non-ESP accessory throws the V1 into legacy mode.

Sure enough, I was wrong. I double checked today and saw the little ESP logo on my CD!

I just got my V1 back from upgrade w/ ESP on Friday and hardwired it into my car. The old CD works fine with the newer V1s. I don't use Savvy, so the ESP issue wasn't a problem for me. However, after spending a few hours yesterday driving around the strip malls in the area, I'm thinking Savvy may be in my near future, unfortunately for my wallet. My old V1 was not as sensitive to strip mall doors as the new one.

have you considered using the k-band automute settings on this forum and running logic or advanced logic?
