that is very interesting... i wish v1 would chime in and say which versions have this feature.
That's really strange, considering from what I know people have been busting running a V1 in VA.
maybe they had an older model?
"Many detectors become radar detector, detector, detectors. They look for RDDs and turn off their detection circuits until they have passed the threat. Detection distances were averaged between the two runs of each detector."
As far as I know only the RedLine and STi Magnum along with every other M3 product is immune to the Spectre. This is made possible through the use of a special case but more importantly a different horn design which suppresses RF leakage. I don't think there is any magical software that can detect a Spectre and shut of a RD's "detection circuits". Wouldn't that render your detector useless? Also I don't think anyone in history has gotten a Spectre alert on the V1 because it doesn't have that ability.
Although that being said would be awesome to if the V1 or any RD have that ability, perhaps the V1 would display a big S. But then I'm sure LEO's would have a hold mode for their Spectres, which would counter the Spectre detection software. So basically the Spectre would have a I/O mode. Of course this is all theory so don't take it seriously.
Well I went straight to the source. Here's the response I received:
We know that older Spectre units detect the Valentine One. We have not had experience with the new equipment mentioned in the test.

COMMENTS: According to the most recent SpeedZones test, the latest V1 could not be detected by VG-2 and the new Spectre Elite. Is this true?
Radar detector RDD
The latest version of V1 is detected by Spectre 2. It wouldn't make too much sense that it wouldn't be detected by the elite.
Maybe someone can test that really ?
This is what happens when a bunch of self proclaimed "certified" experts get together with a bunch of non-technical factory reps to run a test.
Do you think it would have occurred to any of those meat heads that their Spectre Elite was broken?
All I can say is that those test results are worse than useless.......THEY ARE DANGEROUS and SML should be ashamed of their own ineptitude for not figuring it out.
