Go and get yourself a savvy it has the feature you want.
You can get one on eBay, I have a remote mute switch installed on my windshield wiper stalk.
I think i see what your talkin bout the enbay biut can you buy a escort power cord and use it on v1 so we can get the mute button?
Hmmm ok lol.
The question may have aounded stupid but was worth asking lol.
No question is stupid. Pressing the button above the rvm is not issue for me, just natural. If the V1 was mounted far way, that is where the remote comes into play, or maybe connection. For those who does not know, the V1 has the main volume knob and a tab (lower) volume which can be set. Plus, in little l mode, weak X/K alarms can come in at the tab low volume for just a heads up for priority volumes, thus not having to go to the brakes everytime with I/O around, a big plus...
I have built a wireless inf-red remote to mute mine.
Actually I don't but I really wish I did.

You can get a remote display, mount on your power plug, voila mute button on your power plug. But, you will also have moved your display to your power plug.
To answer your question, the V1 does have a mute button on its remote display like the Escort 9500ix, but they mute the volume differently. Escort's mute button will completely mute the alert volume, whereas V1's mute button will mute the alert volume based on the mute volume dial setting on the radar detector which is adjustable. Escort has the auto mute feature that requires no user intervention, but does so at a preset volume that is not adjustable.
