Default V1 is Trully An Engineering Marvel

I must say the V1 is like fine wine, it gets better with age. The newest firmware V1 has been the best V1 I have owned and I have owned many. Where does Mike V. go from here?
RIP Duncan my BELOVED black lab son 8/7/99-3/23/11. I will miss you DEARLY.

I know the statement is in fun, but M.V. is a different animal than most, look at his history. I would think money is not an issue with him (nice car(s)) nor would selling out to a board like Bel and Escort did trying to pick everybodys pocket, for they WILL NOT make an all-in-one product, got to buy everything and subscribe monthly. With RDs getting to the max -db gain, programming and features are the only way to head toward which M. V. is doing slowly (if), not changing the V1 nor not making money off of the phone apps directly, which shows that he cares about his V1ers, that carries his name. The fail safe operator platform is still proven ideal staying away from a complex bells and whistles money making ideals..

You guys have pestered him so much over the years that's what i would do !

IMO this model of the v1 with it's new features is the best there has ever been so far by far.

I can't imagine where he can even go from here quite honestly.

The guy really did wonders with the latest model.

Escort appears to be coming out with some very advanced stuff from what I have seen in their patents not least is soon to be making the Redline what it should have been from the beginning.

a lot of guys are already salivating like Pavlov's dog with that one.

Sure hope mike has a few more rabbits he can pullout of his sleeve after that.

    I'm pulling for him.

I know there is and always been the one basic format for V1, but -- I know it is against Mike's will, but a new unit, even same unit, with same features with a NEW digital display to give more info including freqs on unit itself would improve it so much. There are those that say it has all it needs and those that run "connection" to get more, and it is an awesome unit the way it is, however, it is 2013 not the 1980's. Upgrade the display, even Cobra did that (that was for you Buck ).

There is no need for Mike to upgrade the display on the V1. He states on his website that the V1 you own will never be obsolete. He has led me to believe that he his true to his word. For him to change the display and allow current V1 owners to upgrade, what would he do with all of the V1's that get traded in? There's no cost benefit for him to change the display on the V1.

Now he can change it on the V1C app. Which I am hoping he will in a future version. Make it customizable for the user. That's what makes the V1C so great for both Mike and V1 owners. Easier programmability and added features that have been desired by owners, cost effective for Mike. It's a win-win for both.

He's kind of has done a end run on the display issue with the apps /android function but I don't mind.

because he finally put into it every thing I wanted ! lol

But then Escort decided "we need this and don't need that" and changes the design or if keeping the original design, it jacks the price up. No, leave Mike alone. He has a very good performing product the way things are now.
