V1connection was a nice proof of concept, but even coming out of the trial stage it has some serious shortcomings that have gone months without being fixed. I've already been able to make a test app that can read V1's bluetooth serial protocol, now I was just considering if it would be worth it to develop a full featured app. Just some ideas I have (ranging from simplest to more complex):
*Landscape mode
*Background operation
*Alerts played through the phone (pausing/muting music like android stock GPS does), user can change alert sounds
*GPS speed tracking to eliminate the need to plug in savvy to the car's OBD2 port.
*Pretty much full GPS integration you've seen in other detectors, hot spot tracking, user defined muted areas, location defined profiles, etc
*Integration with Trapster or other V1 users to share info real-time.
*Dash-cam activation triggers. Automatically start recording if you get tagged past a certain signal strength, to potentially gather evidence if you end up fighting a ticket in court (such as another car was passing you, which happened to a guy here a few years ago).
