Default If you cant afford a V1, what's the next best option(s)?

Hey guys, so I can't justify purchasing a new V1 right now, after coming from a Bel Sti Driver about a year and a half ago, driving with no detector since! I feel kind of naked, So I would like to know what detectors are just behind the V1's scope of performance. Please give me some ideas on what to check out!

    Thanks

Were you speeding while typing this?? lol... Yeah I know... I might as well just save up for a bit longer and throw down for the v1... I do miss my STi though.

I read somewhere yesterday that they have rebuilt units for ~$359 or so still with the 1 yr warrananty..might be some of the returns too. I also seem to recall that the additional discount applied to the V1/Savvy combo --- but if I were you I'd go for V1connection instead -------- Custom sweeps (& programming/display via smartphone) is gonna be the sh!t I think. So for $420 I bet you'd get that combo, delivered.

8500 X50 Black is probubly the best bang for the buck, and very similar in sensitivity to the V1 in standard settings.

Escort also has payment plans for there RedLine which does cost more, but is the most sensitive RD made.

BY FAR,the best bang for the buck is a "re-furb'd" Beltronics RX- 65 *"S7" from Escort Radar for $199 (or an exc. used one) !
For all practical purposes it's within a whisker of equaling a new V1 & is actually better than a V1 in off-axis performance.

    I know,as I run them both as a pair !!!

That's what I'm talking about! I thought about getting a used V1, but who knows how old, if it's the proper firmware, does it need a tune? Etc... All those questions bothered me, I am heavily looking into the 8500 x50 black. But I will look into the other suggestions in here I know what the older Bel STi drivers were like, it never let me down, I've seen v1's in action personally driving cross country. I would be happy with either again. Just trying to be a little frugal here.
