The answer to the OP's question is yes there are improvements in the newest versions of the V1 (3.891 and above) that you should upgrade to.

    1. To greatly reduce falsing to K-band traffic sensors Traffic Sensor Filtering was introduced. This software also helps to greatly reduce the radar assist cruise control and blind spot systems.

    2. By combining a V1 with ESP with V1 connection, you can segment Ka band to greatly reduce Junk alerts from Cobras. When doing this, you will be able to turn Ka guard of. This will give the V1 significantly greater range. Comparing alert distances, V1s with Ka guard off out perform those with Ka guard in.

    3. Crystal tuning reduces drifting out of tune.

    4. Savvy

    5. Displaying alert info on your compatible android or iPhone.

As far as me pulling my smart phone out of my pocket to see if an alert is true or false does not seem very practical to me.

I am in the camp "if it aint broke dont fix it" I wonder if I should sit tight and see how these new models work over time.

Do you think I would be better off adding a Laser Interceptor to my defense grid?

Is this something significant or just strategic updating?

I'm too slow to buy the new and great also. Thinking about getting a tablet with a med screen size and mount it to where I can see with ease the bands and freqs. Agree, a small phone (screen) is a pain in a lot of ways. I hope a new CD with everything (program access with screen) will come out soon, that is what I really want......
