Default Questions about V1 & voltage when starting your car

Once in a while I forget to turn off the V1 after I park; And as most V1 owners know, when you re-start the car with the V1 powered-up it make a lame (voltage surge) sound and re-boots. So I have two questions:
    - Can this damage the circuitry or affect precice band tuning?
    - Does a brown out booster work for a regular hard start or does it only work on newer cars that temporarily swich off at stop lights?

I'm thinking of installing a brown out booster to protect against re-starts when I forget to power down the V1.

Its not an issue, i have been running my V1 like this for years.

The Brown out booster is for cars that automatically switch off the engine instead of idling, its not necessary for your application. But why not if you want to, it just stores power like AL stated.

I agree with CJ, I wouldn't worry about it.

No problem, been doing that very thing ever since the 1st V1's and have never had an issue. Although, I have thought about installing a 'break on make' timer since I have a spare timer that I am not using. It delays providing voltage to the device (RD in this case) for a few seconds after voltage is applied, allowing time to start the car. If I ever hard wire the RD I will probably install, but it is certainly not necessary.
