    Default new V1 owner

I purchased a used valentine one off of eBay from a ebay store I have used in the past. When I received it today it did not have a serial number on back. Question is there a way to tell what the number may be? I know stupid without asking for it first.
    Thanks

The number is on the bottom if it isn't you need to return and get your money back. No serial number means VR won't service, update, or touch it.

No serial number can mean it is stolen. Return it now.

This is one of the risks of purchasing any radar detector on eBay. There are tons of companies in China that are selling refurbished V1's, Redlines, STiR plus and what ever else by the pallet. The eBay sellers buy these on pennies for the dollar and sell them as new.

The Op needs to report the seller for selling a product without a SN#. That way the seller will get banned! X2, the V1 is stolen and hot as a fire cracker!

everyone here that says to report the seller are very correct-- and they are also correct about VR will not service it if the SN is missing-- sounds like you got taken to the cleaners in the sense that it might work but if it gets dropped or knocked out of tune or needed to be sent in for service VR will not touch it. sucks but as roy has said its a risk of buying on ebay.
