    Default Should I upgrade

I am currently running version 3.789. I'm currently working on making a stealth kit (will post pics when complete) and was wondering if I should upgrade before I tuck it away (so to speak). I've been holding off since it's actually working quite well for me. I've read the positive and negative reports of the latest firmware and was hoping that a yet a newer revision would come out soon. So I'm having a tough time deciding if I should stay status quo or upgrade. Thoughts?

    I had 3.789 and it was a 1.8.
To me the 3.826 has better logic mode, more accurate arrows, slightly more falsing in K or Ka can't remember which band...(PoP is still on) no big deal, though.

I don't use the 1.8 much. I use the 1.7 daily. I plan to use the 1.8 for long highway drives and as a backup.

I'd hold off on the upgrade. The grass isn't that much greener on the other side of the fence.

In my case I did it mainly b/c I felt like my laser detector is not working, and I wanted to see what the hype of the .826 is all about. $75+ tax & shipping = new receiver and 1yr warranty.

It is a 1.8 version. I am tempted to upgrade as I know I'll get slightly better / more accurate detection, but with some of the issues I've read with the latest version, was just wondering if another update was immenant. I guess let me ask, when was 3.826 released? What's the typical timeperiod btw releases? If no standard, what's been the trend btw releases?

POP started 11/04 with 3.818 then Euro 3.821 3.824 3.825 I believe 3.826 was released mid to late 12/05 if you divide 13 months by 5 versions you have about 1 every 2.5 months but with all or most problems solved I would expect a new version very seldom.
My guess is that the biggest priority for VR would be working on the 16ms POP alert and tweaking the "J"unk alert.
Since you have a 1.8 your unit is very close to Brent's, smaller size, better laser, no POP, "J"unk alert, Euro
I am more comfortable with my 1.7 as the 3.818 last year was ghosting big time big disappointment.
I live close to Nev but have not gone there since test driving the X50 a year ago, no speed traps on that trip although I might go again in April which temps me into test driving a 3.826, yea a new test drive every April until everything is perfect.

Kind of makes you wonder what they changed from (3.789) cbb77's version to (3.813) Brent's version.
    If you look at the reprogramming chart you have (2.680-2.695) (2.849) (2.869) (2.879-2.909) (3.619-3.802) (3.812-3.813) (3.816-3.817) (3.818-3.819) (3.821 and higher)
You can see that they made another improvement version after Brent's version but before POP versions which started at (3.818)
Sorry to burst your bubble Brent but it seems that there were better versions out there after yours but still before POP.

coming from a v1.8 2003 and 2004 pre-pop models I can say K band range has been noticeably improved to where its obvious. You do get more falsing on K, but hey on the interstate its not a big deal. There is also some improvement in KA band range, but its not quite as dramatic. I'm not sure of leaving the POP mode on is improving the K band range or what.

On my first trip(190 miles) with my new 3.826 v1 i got a week ago I encountered 4 LEOs. 2 kand and 2 KA LEOs. Got a "J" Junk when I passed a car and saw a radar detector on the windshield. Had pop mode on and didn't get any KA falses!! forgot to mention arrows accuracy seem to be improved.
