Has anyone experimented with mounting height vs detection range with a Valentine One.
On my last installation, I had the V1 mounted about 3' off the ground and partially obscured by a plastic fairing and headlight assembly on my motorbike.
I would say range was OK, but not amazing.
I am wondering, however, if that had more to do with intereference?
For example, arent many remote detectors hidden inside the bumpers of cars? On a Porsche or Ferrari, that would only be a few inches off the road? But they would have a perfectly clear view down the road.
On a new bike, I have the choice of once again partially obscuring the view and having the RD be 3-4 feet off the ground.
Or I can give it a crystal, clear, unobstructed view down the road, but only about 2 feet off the ground.
In either case, I will lose much of my sensitivity (at least visually) to the rear, but I have decided that's OK.
I just want longest range down the road to the front of the bike, so any suggestions or advice greatly appeciated.
