Default laser false without a source

the other day i was driving on the free way here in CA when i got a laser alert for about 2-3 seconds. Now the CHP doesnt use laser here yet, so ive been told, and there were no GMC envoys or any other car discused in this forum that would cause this false. any thoughts?

What kind of car do you drive? I have heard some Escort's horn will set X50's laser off.

i got the same thing on a drive yesterday on i287 East, just right near the White Plains exits. I got a laser alert from the front, the road completely empty and no leo in sight. I also had 2 others with me that saw no leo. There weren't any cars coming from the other bound either.

Anyway i slammed on the brakes and got down to speed and didn't see a thing as a mx-8 came flying by me. i figured if there was an leo he would be going after that mazda. hmm....i wonder what happened.

Either laser cruise control and you did not see the car, A neon sign that you overlooked. Some military bases used to set mine off.
If you were in Redwood City there is a billboard at Whipple & 101 that will do it every time both directions night or day.
Or else like Jim said when he was being technical as usual it might have been the other light source.

yep certain neon gas can set it like the red kind in brake lights used in some upper model luxury cars such as lexus, some cruise controls in those models can set it off and then all of the above mentioned, I almost think I read all that one the valentine 1 webpage check it out if you feel like it -- might be more.
