Default K band speed sign and 4.2mile range!

As I was traveling back to college from my spring break at home I encountered a K band speed sign as I was coming into knoxville, TN. There is a bunch of road work going on on the interstate, so I knew there would be at least one sign up as I came in. I hit the odometer when I got the first signal. The reason I got so much range on the sign was because it was up high near the top of a hill at an exit. When I came to the top of a hill the strength bar increased and as I came to the bottom of a hill the signal decreased. This continued for a whopping 4.2 miles until I reached the sign!! I couldn't believe this. This is the longest range I've gotten on K band ever.

thats what I thought. Them putting it on top of the hill dramatically increased the ability of my V1 to pick it up. It was a pretty straight road, but there was lots of hills in between the source.

I have it mounted right below my rearview mirror on my gmc yukon. so it sits up 5.2 feet off the ground.

That's normal K band range for V1 if the road is reasonably straight with a few hills.

Wow cloud9, that's some range. I wouldn't suggest putting it up 12 feet above ground though. I would be real surprised, to see the V1 pick up laser at 12 feet above ground. Show me some pics of that one. Mk
