I just finished installing my V1 on my bike with a www.pelican.com waterproof case, tucked in just under the fairing.
For the first few days, everything worked just fine, including the remote audio and visual displays.
Keen to once again test the range for X band tonight, I was staring at the "L" on the remote visual display as I approached the stationary "Your Speed is ___________" display in a neighboring town.
I can usually pick this sign up from about 3 to 4 tenths of a mile, even though it is around a bend, elevated, and also obstructed by the hardware store and a bank.
Just that nice big red LED "L" in the visual display but not one single X band beep.
So I started to think they must have taken the sign down, but as I got around the corner, there it was, shouting out at me in big red LED numbers that I was going about 10 MPH over the limit.
Obviously this does not inspire confidence, especially since my trip computer told me I touched 118 MPH on the way home.
Has anyone ever had an intermittant V1? Can I turn it off and on again and hope it might work? Can the unit be rebooted?
I really hate to send it in for service < 1 week after I finally installed it so any suggestions greatly appreciated.
