First: Thanks to RadarRoy and alll for this wonderful forum.

Just ordered my first V1 repace a Passport 8500 (non X-50). Ordered second day UPS - which is probably silly on a Wednesday night.

Why did I buy Valentine?

1. Escort went into self cal again and for the first time said "service required". Unplugged it and all is fine - but I don't trust it anymore. The self cal seems related to bad power to me. I bet that message sells more V1's than anything else.

2. Superior laser performance. At least SOME chance of getting a reflection.


3. Arrows make sense.


4. Last FULL price detector I will buy (?).


5. Seems the price difference isn't as much as it was years ago.

Welcome to the board glt. I think you will enjoy your V1. I hope you got a case w/ it. This protects your investment and also when you are out and need to take your V1 down, you can use the little area between the seat and the door where no one looks for V1's.
