Just got the V1 today & took a few mile drive - the thing was quiet for maybe 10% of the time. 4-9 bogeys at almost all times. Had the RX65 running on the other side of the dash not making a peep for 90% of the time...

Turn the RX65 off, leave only the V1 on, and your false alarms should drop dramatically.
The V1 does not like other RD's around it... both it and the X50 really dislike having other detectors around.
Air is right, check out the Guys of Lidar web site and you can learn more why this happens.
I'm about to spend 10 hrs on the highway. I thought a side-by-side test would be best in order to compare the two, apparently not. I'll report back this weekend.
The title of this post is halarious.
I should mention I live near a strip mall, the road that mine branches off is under construction & has a K band sign 1000' facing away on one side & another 1.5 miles facing away on the other. Actually there are strip malls all around my home. Suburbia central.....
...later...
What mode are you running in A, L or little l?
This can make a big difference as well.
For me little l is the most quiet mode.

I agree w/ airmoore. Having two rd's right next to each other causes a lot of false alarms. You might be able to get away w/ mounting your rx65 in the back window with a long extension and have your V1 in the front but not sure this is recommended? Being able to run your V1 alone works great. I use the V1 quite a bit but on occasion, I take it down and run my Bel 970 (tech mode) to check frequencies. I used to run my X50 in the front and 970 in the back. Had problems w/ the POP falsing on the X50 and sent it in and when I got it back, less POP falsing but also less x band detection than before. I NEVER UNDERSTOOD THIS! Mk
