Default Corvette owners.... V-1 perm install....

I have just gotten a New C6 Vette and a V-1 as well.

I have gotten the Zip V-1 Bracet, but haven;t installed it yet.

Not crazy about the tape on the back of the rear view or it hanging down that far.

I also want to make a perm install with invisicord, but want the V-1 at the best place to remove it, as well as it not being in the way visually.
    What do you suggest?

    Thanks

It appears the "Zip" V1 bracket is the bracket manufactured by "Great Lakes Trophies & Engraving", but looks like Zip charges $8 more & probably shipping too...

hey dave dont make him feel bad for having a vette, it was actually my idea that he make a thread as such to gain the attention of fellow vette owners to get ideas on how they did their installs. he isn't bragging

hey jim, i remember a GoL member had a friend /w a vette /w a v1. was it sethy's or outrun's? i remember footage of the vet jammin /w a blinder and with the remote display on the upper left corner of the windshield

The mirror mount by "Great Lakes Trophies & Engraving" seems to hang down too much obstructing vision and announcing too every one that you have a radar detector. (begging to get pulled over)
It is actually against the law here and probably in most places to hang things off your rear view mirror and stick things to your windshield.
But the other one they have that "mounts to your existing sun visor retaining clip" looks kind of sweet but I would prefer the original V1 visor clip if workable because it is higher and more stealthy.

I bought the Great Lakes one for my C6 that mounts to the sun visor retaining clip and tried to install it yesterday. In order to use it, you remove the spring clip from the V1 visor mount, and slide it on to the Great Lake bracket. While it puts the unit up nice and high, the V1 does not slide on and off the bracket very easily, and since I have a convertible, taking it down when parked is a must do. I'm going to see if a newer V1 visor mount makes a difference once I dig it out of the attic.

I know what you are saying about pulling the V1 out of the visor clip.
When I had my unit repaired last year VR replaced the top cover (possible stripped screw) and now it is extremely tight.
What I do is put a thumb nail on each side of the visor clip that faces you and push out using my fingers on the front antenna slightly rocking back and forth.
