A RD is not a cop detector its a radar detector!!
Well, to anwser you correctly without sarcasim. NO , it really would depend on how to apply it, if you apply it correctly as well as how much you apply it.
Some lights are more reflective than others. Some plates are more reflective than others. Some cars might need 2 coats, some only one.

Ahh some people can't take a little joke oh well!
I though bob said not to apply multiple coats as you will not see any added benefit's!
Veil isn't perfect and won't give you 100% protection aginst lidar however it sure helps!

As stated VEIL works as we state and is quite effective at attenuating laser reflection from areas treated with VEIL...those areas actually covered.
The overall effectiveness of VEIL is vehicle dependent however - very much like a laser jammer. In otherwords, VEIL will be more effective at lowering your overall vehicle laser cross-section on aerodynamic vehicles and medium to darker coloured vehicles.
VEIL will be less effective - as the sole countermeasure solution - on vehicles that are light metallic coloured and not aerodynamic...Like big/huge metallic silver or white SUVs.
Why? Simple: The remaining laser cross-section of those vehicles may be sufficiently high enough that VEIL's benefit in up close (say less than 700') targeting scenarios may alone be insufficient for adequate protection (depending on the laser gun used). Then again the very same types of vehicles that present problems for VEIL will likely present problems for active countermeasures as well, especially in off-angled targeting scenarios.
The answer then is to utilize VEIL in combination with 1) a decent laser detector and 2) a decent laser jammer.
When you have all these things working for you together, you really have something that will allow you to successfully avoid a great majority of laser speeding tickets - though we don't advocate speeding.
Sorry for the long-winded answer, but I wanted to give your question a detailed answer. Please don't hesitate to ask more if you can't find the answer somewhere within the treasure-trove of this terrific forum!
Good luck with whatever you choose and...drive safely!

I have a Maroon Expedition with a chrome bumper, an Xtreme M40 (properly placed) and Veiled headlights. Would 2 coats of Veil help me???? I've heard there's no added benefit of 2 over 1. I coated 1 light with 1 coat and the other with 2 coats. The 1 coats looks better than no coats in my opinion. The 2 coats is quite a bit darker, but still gives it a stealthy look. I would paste a pic, but i don't have a pic on this computer. Plus, how do I paste a pic without using links? I was also thinking of veiling my chrome. asssuming I'm ok with the looks, would this be ok?
