I believe a couple of years back, someone came up with a pretty ingenious idea - to brillo the retroreflective/diamond etching of the new high tech number plates.

May not be the prettiest, but sure did a job at significantly reducing reflection.

The night visibility is fine, I switched the high beam halogen H5 bulb into the h6 socket, visibility is 300-400 feet, now I gotta go buy another set of H5 since the H6 will not fit in the H5 bulb, for the high high beam

Someone mentioned that veil will ruin the license plate stickers, so any idea's to get around this because I'm sure the stickers are reflective as well
