I put on two coats, I think I'm gonna get pulled over for this, I might just leave the headlights on all the time, my license plate isn't here yet but the weather was warm so I got it done.
If I get pulled over, what should I say? Good idea to leave the headlights on?
Its more like 1.5, the foam brush was difficult since it started to lint off onto the glass, plus the little glass mold points got in the way so I had to put more on it to even it out, next time I'm gonna put the foam brush in water to get the lint off and put more veil on the brush because the foam dries up quick
I think you should be OK with regard to pull-overs......that's nowhere near that deep of a tint, so it doesn't look like "headlight covers" at all.
How's enforcement practices in your area? Is it more stringent on Import Sport Compacts for lighting codes? If so, then that would be my only concern, otherwise, I'd think that you'd be OK - there's a certain amount of hazing/oxidation to be expected from such headlights of your vehicle's generation, and also, it may be passed-off as a "dirty look" as well.

the va code is strict but my wife got a new job at Dulles airport where I have been pulled over three times before, one for the laser shield and others for window tint, ticketed for the laser shield, those cops know the laws they've seen it all, we'll see its the first time i gotta drop the wife today in my car
Well, in that case, bruddah, I wish you the best of luck.
Since The Veil Guy has weighed in, maybe a re-application of just one coat would be better for your purposes, considering the harsh enforcement in your area?

I don't know whats up with the airport authority, they have issues, i'll be ok, i like the way veil looks, it matches the car.
I still don't know how the veil works, I mean what does the laser need in order to reflect back? Does veil totally absorb the photon's or something or does it reflect it at an angle where the laser gun cannot receive the signal? how much area is needed for reflection? And whats all this talk about punch through? On a side note, doesn't radar also need something to reflect back? Those russians were able to disguise a space station for like 20 yrs, they must of used something special?
Look at my front bumper, its primed up, I wouldn't mind the whole car that color and I don't think primer has any reflectivity but would the laser eventually find some reflectivity on the atomic level?, i was never good at optical physics
If you all have any info, please post, I've looked online and I'm trying to figure out the basics first, far as I know carbon fiber can reduce RF signal down to the size of a hummingbird, maybe thats why radar has a hard time detecting motorcycles since most good bike parts are made of carbon fiber and are small to begin with, luckily sport compacts have many carbon fiber parts available, what u all think, drape the whole car in carbonfiber?
With that front plate up there, it won't really matter much if you have Veil on, or not, unless you still have the Laser Shield on. Go out at night and take a picture with flash from a small distance. You'll notice the plate will pratically "light" up.
I'm sure the matte white color you have is prolly better than say clearcoated white, but you'd prolly get more protection if it was matte black. Then again, that doesn't really go with your car.
With your current set up, if you don't have to laser shield on, you probably will not have much, if any time to slow down. With a laser shield on, you might have a fighting chance, and is all dependant on if your X50, or your eyes can pick the LEO before/as he is starting to shoot you.
As for radar, there is still a nice little block of metal, aka engine and radiator, behind all that carbon fiber. Now, if you were to relocate your radiator and get some radar absorbing foam behind that carbon fiber... I don't know. I think it would be a cool idea that might work

I'm still waiting on the license plate to arrive, its a step by step process, I'm not going to do any testing until all components are done, I was ticketed for the laser shield within a week of putting it on, so the only option I have is getting a souvenier plate and coat it with Veil
the radar absorbing foam could interfere with the radar detector, so back to researching for me

I would put a Laqser Shield on a plate over VEIL....
VEIL on licences plates it much more noticeable compared to a laser shield
1.Plate with no VEIL, and NO plate cover
2. Plate with no VEIL, with Laser Sheild
3. Thick coat of VEIL vs NON-Veiled plate(i didn't use the plate cover with plate like that)
4.Light VEILed Plate vs NON-VEILed
5. Light VEILed, no plate cover
6.Light VEIL, with Laser Sheild
