I'd be willing to slap on a coat, and at least see if the compromises to lighting capabilities, by my own interpretation/standards, is acceptable.

Question - Any long-term testing of whether or not this will leave residue/staining on polycarb lenses? Any noted issues between "adherence" to glass versus polycarb/plastics?

Super Dave,

I think we're holding the line on price.

TSi+WRX & whiterabbit05,

One coat that is.

Given that G4's clarity is improved, I haven't notice any reduction of night illumination, just a slight more bluish-violet color tone to the lights and from the rear-view mirror, the lights on my wife's car appears like the color temperature of Xenons instead of the yellowing color of conventional Halogens.

Since clarity is an order of magnitude improved over our previous version(s), the color/tint has much less impact on light output or beam dispersion patterns (than the diffusing nature).

The appearance of lightness or darkness is very dependent upon the nature of the light housing.

My mustang has the current version of Veil on it. My headlight lens covers and fog lights are plastic. I would be afraid to try to remove the Veil for fear of what my current light covers might look like when I was done. The newer Veil looks much more appealing, but for fear of ruining my current lights, I would be inclined to avoid it. Any advice Veil Guy?

A little unsolicited advice here...I can't tell you whether you SHOULD remove it or not, but if you do, I'd suggest picking up a bottle of Goof Off solvent. I tested a number of solvents for removing Veil and all of the other ones worked very slowly...I wouldn't want to expose a coating to them for a long time, but they certainly weren't efficient at removing it. The Goof Off, however, ate right through the Veil.

I was just going to wetsand my Veil application off.

The new gen looks really good, BTW. Something that would actually look good on an expensive car. Hmm, I was thinking about tinting my fog lights, but this...

Question, Veil Guy.

How blue/purple are we talking about? Do you have any Kelvin temp color approximations? (As in 6000K-8000K blue?)

Hmm...I never have tried that material.

I have read here that some have been successful with Windex (pretty mild).

I, myself have used ammonia/rubbing alcohol for years and have applied and removed countless applications of Veil on my vehicles without incident.

One thing I would caution, though, if light housings are already extremely weathered (ie; UV damaged resulting in cloudiness and haziness) I would suggest that one tries Veil section first, if there are any potential concerns, as the nature of such damaged headlight housing is already compromised.

With G4, one may think of Veil as a light protector since we filter UV as well. This should go a long way to diminishing the potential for such things.

If you look carefully at a lot of vehicles you'll see many headlight housings are very yellow, cloudy/opaque. This is primarily due to the composition of the housing material and the lack of manufacturing materials to protect from UV exposure.

I like to think of Veil G4 as a "sun-screen" for the such headlight systems that happens to absorb police lidar, as well.

We're continually designing/developing new materials to make Veil more friendly to use (on vehicles) and in the environment.

ELVATO,

Not at this time.

The appearance of blue/violet varies from one vehicle to another.

On my sister's Honda, its not as noticeable because of the shape of the headlight. On my Bimmer, its a bit more noticeable in the twilight hours but not quite as much during the high-time of the day.

We intentionally made it enough of this shade to make the appearance at night enough that conventional headlight don't appear yellow/warm...but more cool violet/blue.

It's not as blue/violet as a 7K temp system or something that appears on a Merc SLK with BiXenons, but we think more so, than say Silvania's Cool Blue headlight housings.

We had received repeated requests, from a number SEMA show attendances, that such an appearance would be [very] desired by the younger "tuner" crowd.

I personally, love the appearance of G4, but you guys will be the [ultimate] decision makers...

All I can say now, is that we are hopeful that you'll be pleased with it.
