I am pleased to be able to share some brand new videos that Steve and I prepared out in Ohio last weekend with his personal Honda Civic with Veil G4.
These videos are unmodified and the results were what they actually were, with Steve performing the in-hud targeting and me doing the driving.
When possible, Steve went right for the headlights, which is the acid test of laser countermeasure (ie; "laser jammer") performance testing.
I am in the process of rendering them for youtube...with more to come.
We also conducted Passport 9500ci/Shifter ZR4 runs with and without Veil G4 and have included baselines (without Veil G4 on the headlights) for direct back-to-back comparison. (Note: the baseline runs did have a LaserShield on the plate, so baselines without any plate protection would have produced even higher initial punchthroughs.)
We didn't even think about removing the plate cover for the base-runs and exposing his plate directly for the base-runs;it was the same plate cover, in each case.
It really goes to show that if you don't treat the headlights, the plate cover (whether or not it's treated with Veil) doesn't afford much protection, by itself.
Of course, the reverse would also be true. Treat the headlights with Veil and leave the plate exposed (without a cover, Veil-treated or not) and you'd still be toast!
I believe Steve had used one very light application of Veil on his existing lasershield plate cover (original Veil G2, not G4) and I had applied one decent coating of Veil G4 on his headlights, after the baselines had been established and documented.
BTW, more videos are coming (including ZR4 + ZR4 & Veil G4 combinations).
The thing I respect most about Bob is that he is posting all of the videos not just the good runs like others, in other words he kept it real!
